My practice is a process of shedding the figurative in an image, exploring emotions surrounding intimacy and touch by reducing subjects to a minimal number of marks. The outcome is something that’s been manipulated and devolved, as I seek to represent the emotion of the image in its simplest visual form. After experiencing a bereavement in 2021, my art practice became a conceptual space for me to navigate my grief and its overwhelming effects. As a result, the Sublime has become a prominent theme in my work, exploring obscurity through abstraction of the landscape and creating depth through colour and texture, resulting in shapeless infinities.
